Members attending the May 14 meeting were provided a superb presentation by Jack Zurich, Senior Trainer at Zodiac Academy. The program offered licensed contractors two hours of CILB continuing education and two hours of credit for the Propane Gas Association. Assisted by Misty Knight, there was a question and answer period and everyone was provided a booklet on gas heater installation, pens and a hat. Thank you, Jack Zurich and Misty Knight.
The early morning hours in Jupiter on May 11 were plagued with thunderstorms, threatening to ruin the Chapter’s Fun Family Day & Cornhole Tournament. At 9:30 a.m. the sun came out, the rain became a drizzle and soon was gone for the day.
Wow, what a wonderful day it was. Members socialized, enjoyed a picnic, kids had fun in the bounce house, and even a few adults participated in the face painting. There were 53 people who participated in this fun-filled event, many asking the Chapter to hold another one later in the year.
A special thank you to those who gave many volunteer hours to plan and ensure the success of the event. John Fulton, Built Right Pool Heaters, headed the event as tournament chair. What a great job he did keeping the Cornhole Tournament running smooth. Even those who lost in their first round had the opportunity to play again and potentially win the entire event.
David Villandry, Commercial Energy Specialists, picked the site for the picnic and tournament, and he was our personal DJ bringing and setting up a sound system. The site was perfect for the picnic and tournament with seating, shade and restrooms. Swimming was within a short walk onsite or across the parking lot to the beach. And then what’s a picnic without hamburgers and hotdogs, cooked by our very own Steve Hackl, Hackl Pool Construcation Co, Inc. Thank you, Steve, for bringing your grill and doing all the cooking for us. And we can’t forget all of the wonderful potluck dishes brought by our members.
Red Rhino Leak Detection’s Matt Wills and Adrian Saluzar dominated the tournament taking first place. Second place was won by Blue Fin Builders, Hannah Piecewicz and Tyler Falci, and third place was won by Jim Bingold, Proline Distributors, and Ed Morse, Sunshine Pools & Spas. See the full line of event pictures on the Chapter’s Facebook page at facebook.com/FSPAPB and on the Chapter website at www.fspa-pb.com.
Upcoming meetings will include CPR/First Aide Certification, a HOPS class (held at the Aquatic Center), a chemistry and a hydraulics class.
